The organization works as a conduit between the various international donors, through Children International, and the end-beneficiaries through the local government units, non-profit organizations and other institutions serving poor sector nationwide.

Role purpose

The Director – CIPI role represents the highest leadership position employed within CI-Philippines Inc. (herein referred to as CIPI) and reports to Board of Directors of CIPI as well as the Regional Director. The position has technically reporting to the Senior Global Director of Strategic Partnership based CIKC as well. This position is pivotal in ensuring an effective and meaningful engagement between our GIK partners and CIPI.

 

Your accountability is to understand and ensure GIK programs are aligned to organizational strategic vision, foster operational excellence and ensure results and lead and integrate effectively a team of 6-8 staff.

 

As an innovative leader, you’ll cultivate a high-performance culture aligned with CI’s values. You’ll champion engagement, well-being, development and promote accountability, and collaboration and adherence to our policies, including child safeguarding.

 

Your role involves driving problem-solving, building and maintaining stakeholder relations, enabling effective communication workflows, and promoting continuous improvement. Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Champions and ensures that organizational and Product Donation and Gift in Kind strategies and plans, as well as the “CI Product Donation Policy and Procedures as defined by the Global Strategic Partnership team” are executed in CIPI and meet performance expectations, with highest priority given to fully aligning with Donor expectations.
  • Ensures Board health, development and compliance in CIPI and maintains ongoing personal relationships with Board members.
  • Leads and coordinates annual planning and budgeting process for CIPI and ensures reporting and accountability for its results.
  • Provides line management leadership and accountability ensuring quality focused and timely execution and cost-effective during distribution of products/gifts received.
  • Drives achievement of desired outcomes and results aligned to CIPI and CIKC standard operating processes and guidelines, goals and targets as well as child safeguarding guidelines and practices.
  • Recruits, leads and develops an effective and efficient CIPI team aligned to CI Values.
  • Manages performance of direct team members through establishing clear accountability, coaching, and development.
  • Drives adherence by all staff to all statutes, organizational policies, business ethics, code of conduct, statutory regulatory guidelines, local laws, and regulations. This includes key internal purchase process and financial controls, audits as well as the segregation of duties.
  • Leads compliance and coordination with government regulating agencies for Annual registration, renewal of licenses, accreditation, and permits including importation clearances etc.
  • Coordinates with relevant stakeholders to elevate the role and local partnerships developed by CIPI, as well as to identify, evaluate, and mitigate the risks associated with organization's donations, importation and distribution processes, property, finances, staff, goodwill, and reputation.
  • Mobilizes support for CIPI, both with regionally based staff and global functions, to provide one-off or ongoing support as needed, and closely coordinates with the Regional Director.
  • Oversees daily operations of the agency, ensuring performance, and productivity as well as engagement with partners and agencies on GIK demand generation /requisition/requirements activities.
  • Encourages continuous improvement initiatives and leads change within a complex, ever-changing work environment.
  • Develops and enables a learning culture that addresses Agency challenges and problem-solving.
  • Enables seamless information flow, breaks down silos, and stimulates effective collaboration across stakeholders within the global organization, agency as well as the community, maximizing collective impact for our children, youth, and families.
  • Partners with global teams and other colleagues to share best practices, learnings, and other approaches to stakeholder engagement.
  • Drives and monitors consistency, reliability, timeliness, and quality of all gathered information (database of partners/recipients and GIK products received) to ensure data integrity. Staying up to date with importation requirements as well as regularly update and document progress and comply with timely submission of data and other reporting requirements by CIKC/RO Donors, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health and other concerned government agencies.
  • Leads key stakeholder activities to identify, build and nurture strategic alliances, engage, and solicit feedback with diverse stakeholders both internal (staff and volunteers) as well external partners like government institutions, other NGOs etc. at the district, national and regional level to foster coordination and collaboration and ensure duty-bound distribution of Product Donations among agreed beneficiaries.
  • Collaborates on innovative ideas to advance CIPI partnerships and presence in the region.

 

Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred, with a minimum of 7 years of relevant management and operations experience. Experience with the NGO and Board of Directors in the past is a plus.
  • A proven track record in managing gift-in-kind (GIK) / product donations programs and budgets as well as working across cultures, and comfortable working in diverse environments ranging from the vulnerable neighborhoods to the Board Room.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, demonstrating respectful treatment of others with proven experience in building and leveraging partnerships with government and other organizations.
  • Proven leadership and people skills including recruitment, coaching, performance improvement, and conflict management with the ability to inspire, influence, empower diverse teams and build a culture reflective of CI values and expectations of high performance.
  • Good analytical skills, with past experience in gathering and systematically synthesizing complex or diverse information, identifying trends, and suggesting improvements and innovations.
  • Tech Savy with good computer skills and experience in different learning and communication platforms and MS Office application.
  • Learning mentality characterized by listening, humility, and openness/courage to change.
  • Fluency in English and Filipino with strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Terms of Appointment

This is role is field based and the incumbent has to been comfortable and willingness to travel locally within Philippines to different provinces at least 50% of the time, there may also be requirement to travel internationally from time to time.

 

Engagement: Permanent Contract within and initial 6 months’ probation.

 

Reports to: Board of Director CIPI and Regional Director with technical reporting to Senior Global Director Strategic Partnership in CIKC.
